Various Things To Cause Swollen Gums

Avoid gum irritants such as commercial mouthwashes, alcohol, and tobacco. For swollen gums caused by sensitivity to toothpaste or mouthwash, change the toothpaste brand and avoid using mouthwashes. Use good oral hygiene. See a periodontist (or dentist) at least every 6 months. Most people need a gum disease treatment and do not even know it. If they paid close attention to certain signs, however, they would understand what is going on. The root cause of periodontal (gum) disease is bacteria found in the mouth cavity. The bacteria produce flesh-eating toxins that literally eat away at your gums, teeth and supporting structures. Some times these things may be present without any pain. You will need to have great home care habits. Where before you may have been able to get away without flossing daily, this habit now takes on great importance.
